This will be the first meeting of the merged membership!

We will hold an installation ceremony for our new 2012 Officers and Directors and we will honor all our Northwest Arkansas Award for Excellence recipients.

There will be lots of door prizes, a $300 cash door prize and five lucky Award for Excellence recipients will be eligible to win $100 VISA gift cards.

We will raise money for Special Olympics Arkansas with our Split the Cash drawing and we will auction an overnight stay with a duck hunting trip at Five Drakes Hunting Club.

The lunch buffet ($11) opens at 11:30 and the meeting begins at noon.

The February meeting of the Metro Area Board of REALTORS® will be held on Thursday, February 2, at noon at the Clarion Inn in Fayettville.

The survey results have been tallied and it is clear that our membership wants to ask more questions and vote on the proposed merger with the Rogers and Bentonville Bella Vista boards.

The optional lunch buffet opens at 11:30 and the meeting will begin at 12:00 noon. Please arrive early in order to allow time to register and receive your ballot.

The votes will be counted at the meeting and we will announce the final result prior to adjourning.

We will hold a "Split the Cash" drawing for Special Olympics Arkansas and our cash prize drawing will be $200.

Important news for Supra eKey users with iPhones! The new iPhone operating system (iOS5) is launching today. If you use your iPhone to open lockboxes, please do not upgrade your operating system yet.

The eKey application has been sent to Apple for approval and will appear in the App Store once it is approved. If the new operating system is installed prior to getting the updated eKey software, you could encounter issues with your eKey.

The banquet committee will present their annual skit and kickoff ticket sales for our December 3rd Holiday Installation Banquet.

The Special Olympics committee will be auctioning a quarter page advertisement, courtesy of Tom Scantlin and the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, to benefit SOAR. We will also auction a framed and matted hummingbird print, donated by Paul Colvin of United Country Block Realty & Auction.

We will hold our "split the cash" drawing to benefit Special Olympics Arkansas (SOAR). Staple a five dollar bill to your business card and drop it in the bowl at the registration table. If your card is drawn, you "split the cash" with SOAR.

CBS CODES ON BLUETOOTH iBOXES

We have just discovered that the list of new BT iboxes that we received from Supra have a problem with the CBS codes. CBS codes are 7 digits and the CBS codes we received contain 10 digits.

In order to have a correct and useful CBS code, you need to drop the first three digits from the numbers we sent you.

If you would like a new list, we now have the ability to re-create your inventory list with the corrected CBS codes. Please email kevin@metrorealtors.org if you would like a new excel spreadsheet sent to you.

Our friends at Keller Williams are organizing relief efforts for tornado victims of last nights devastating event in the Joplin area. They are collecting items needed and cash donations to partner with the Red Cross. We need all hands on deck immediately. Trucks are leaving this afternoon to provide immediate assistance for those who have lost their homes and family members. How can you help? Drop your donations at Keller Williams 2418 E. ARMLS NEW LISTING VIOLATION PROCEDURES START APRIL 15

Don't Forget to check all your listings! ARMLS New Listing Violation Procedure Starts tomorrow, April 15th

We have changed the procedure for handling listing violations. In the past a system called MLS Data Checker was used. That service has been cancelled and all violations will now be handled internally by staff.

Below is the summary of changes and the new procedure when an agent is in violation of ARMLS Rules & Regulations:

Fines will be imposed beginning April 15, 2011.
Violation of MLS Rules and Regulations not corrected within five (5) days of notice to the listing agent will result in suspension of services and a reactivation fee of $50 will be due to have access reactivated.
Services will be terminated if the reactivation fee is not paid prior to the next dues cycle.
Services may also be terminated in cases of extreme or repeated violation
of the Rules and Regulations of the Service as determined by the MLS Board of Directors.

REALTOR® PARTY POLITICAL SURVIVAL INITIATIVE

By now you have all heard about the proposed REALTOR® Party Political Survival Initiative. We have received numerous questions and comments about the initiative during the past weeks, and as you know there has been a lot of discussion on the blogs and various social media outlets.

To help provide you with the latest information and answer many of the questions that have been raised, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Leadership Team is holding a LIVE virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, April 13th, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. central time. Cathy Whatley, 2003 NAR President and Chair of the Political Survival Presidential Advisory Group, will be joining us to share her insights and clarify the value of this initiative to members.

The town hall is open to ALL REALTORS®. To participate simply use the link below. You’ll be directed to a registration page. Once registered, you will receive an email with a link to view the Town Hall on April 13th.

We are encouraging informed debate on this initiative. To that end, please take some time to review the updated Political Survival Initiative materials, which will help guide the discussion and the question and answer session on the 13th.

Thanks to everyone who came out for today's membership meeting!

We had a good meeting, raised $705 for Special Olympics Arkansas and did NOT give away the $400 cash prize! Doug Lossing's name was drawn but he was not in the room, so our May 5 drawing is $500. Make plans now to be there when YOUR name is called!

Our banquet committee is selling gift baskets for Administrative Professionals Day, which is April 27. The baskets are $6 each or two for $10 and are available at the board office. Supporting banquet committee projects helps keep ticket prices low for our Christmas Banquet...which will be held at the Springdale Holiday Inn on December 3.

Form Simplicity will be sending emails out tomorrow, April 1st, detailing their product and providing information on product training opportunities being offered next week.

Great meeting today! We raised $970 for Special Olympics Arkansas and then our friends at WACO Title donated $1000 to our SOAR fundraising effort!

Our members voted to approve paying off our building mortgage, so watch for the invitation to our mortgage burning party!

Last but not least, Brian Hester's name was drawn for the $100 cash. Brian wasn't there, so on February 3 we draw for $200!
